We’ve just been made aware of an issue that started on Wednesday night (8th Jan) and affects customers using our service to forward to Microsoft using *.mail.protection.outlook.com addresses.
It seems that Microsoft changed something in the way they present the IPv6 info in their DNS. This caused a bug at our end, as we don’t use IPv6, but the forwarding code was accidentally resolving this and getting confused, causing a mail loop and lost email.
If you have customers that are affected, please be assured this is now fixed.
If you would like a log of any potentially lost emails, please raise a support ticket by emailing support@verygoodemail.com with details of the customer(s) affected and we’ll extract the details from our log files.
In the meantime, please accept our apologies for this.
