We are currently seeing an increased number of bounces when customers are sending email to GMail accounts.
The usual error message contains: “This message does not pass authentication checks”. In most cases emails are rejected by GMail for failing an SPF check.
If you haven’t already put an SPF Record in place for your domain we strongly recommend you do so.
Unfortunately this isn’t something we can fix for you, as this is managed via the company that hosts your domain – either via the DNS Control Panel they provide, or they may do this for you if you contact their support team.
SPF Records should be set as follows when sending via our network: v=spf1 include:_spf.verygoodemail.com ~all
More information on SPF Records can be found here.
Hi All,
We are receiving some error when we send email to gmail addresses.
Kindly help us with this issue.
Regards
I’ve just checked and you don’t currently have an SPF Record in place for your domain – you will need to contact the company that hosts your Domain and ask them to add the record we’ve given – the bit in bold above. This isn’t something we can do for you I’m afraid. If still unsure, give us a call on 01442 927470 during working hours and we can explain in more detail.
I don’t have a domain, but am seeing this when sending to Gmail. I have updated the account on Outlook to use your servers both inbound and outbound.
Hi Martin,
Apologies for the delayed response!
The issue is due to you using a sub-domain of an f2s.com address – we have asked TalkTalk to update SPF Records for sub-domains such as yours and are currently awaiting this being actioned.
For future reference – safer to raise any support queries via email to support@verygoodemail.com – as that raises a ticket that we can share with the technical team internally.
