We are currently seeing an increased number of bounces when customers are sending email to GMail accounts.
The usual error message contains: “This message does not pass authentication checks”.
In most cases emails are rejected by GMail for failing an SPF check.
If you haven’t already put an SPF Record in place for your domain we strongly recommend you do so.
Unfortunately this isn’t something we can fix for you, as this is managed via the company that hosts your domain – either via the DNS Control Panel they provide, or they may do this for you if you contact their support team.
SPF Records should be set as follows when sending via our network:
v=spf1 ip4:85.119.248.0/22 -all
More information on SPF Records can be found here.
Hi All,
We are receiving some error when we send email to gmail addresses.
Kindly help us with this issue.
Regards
I’ve just checked and you don’t currently have an SPF Record in place for your domain – you will need to contact the company that hosts your Domain and ask them to add the record we’ve given – the bit in bold above. This isn’t something we can do for you I’m afraid. If still unsure, give us a call on 01442 927470 during working hours and we can explain in more detail.
